Biden Exaggerates Story of Almost Losing Wife and Cat
During his speech in the Hawaiian Islands, affected by devastating wildfires, U.S. President Joe Biden shared a story about a fire that broke out at his home. However, he appears to have distorted some facts.
As reported by Life.ru, Biden recounted that he almost lost his wife, Jill Biden, his car, and his cat due to the fire. He claimed that the incident occurred in 2008.
"Lightning struck the house, hitting a small pond near the house and damaging electrical wires. In short, I almost lost my wife, my 1967 Corvette, and my cat," Biden said, emphasizing that the incident happened 15 years ago.
However, as the Associated Press later revealed, the incident actually occurred in 2004, when the current U.S. president was still a senator. There was indeed a small fire in the kitchen of his home in Delaware due to a lightning strike, but no one was harmed, and the fire was brought under control within just 20 minutes. Furthermore, Jill Biden not only was unharmed, but she also called the fire department herself.
