My Son Was a Big Bone in Their Throat: Mother of Valodya Grigoryan on Her Son's Murder

They didn’t swallow my son’s victory. This was stated by the mother of Valodya Grigoryan, the murdered mayor of Parakar, in an interview with ArmLur.

“They killed a man for his principles. Even if Valodya's brother was suspected of hooliganism, Valodya never had a weapon, never raised a weapon; they would dream that my son was involved in that crime because elections were coming, and my big son was considered an opposition force and had quite a large following,” said the mother of Valodya Grigoryan.

When asked by the journalist whether she suspects a mastermind, the mother replied, “Yes, of course, but I won't name names. Let the law figure it out; I’m not authorized to say such things.”

Speaking about the suspects, the mother of the murdered mayor said, “I wish they had no connection; they are young too, they are also destroyed. The life in prison is very harsh, but no one is more precious to me than my son. I would like justice to come to light so that no one else goes after my son.”
