Request to Arrest Gagik Khachatryan Denied
Former head of the State Revenue Committee and former finance minister Gagik Khachatryan will not be arrested. This was reported to News by Khachatryan's lawyer, Yerem Sargsyan.
The request for Khachatryan's arrest was submitted by the acting prosecutor Gevorg Sargsyan during a closed-door session. Lawyer Yerem Sargsyan noted that Gagik Khachatryan attended the court session lying on a stretcher, which was the reason for the request to hold the session behind closed doors.
It is recalled that Gagik Khachatryan is accused of several charges, including abuse of official powers, accepting a particularly large bribe, aiding money laundering, embezzlement, and squandering.
