Need to Strengthen Accountability for Denying Genocide: Minasyan
Ofelya
The Armenia National Assembly's 'Hayastan' faction proposes amendments to the Armenian Criminal Code to tighten the penalties for publicly denying or justifying genocides and crimes against humanity. The initiative was presented in the National Assembly by faction secretary Artavik Minasyan.
"The statistical data indicating that no criminal proceedings have ever been initiated under this article was also a basis for us, despite numerous cases where public statements denying, justifying, or downplaying the Armenian Genocide have been made," he stated.
