Lavrov: We Hope They Will Support the Conduct of Russian-Ukrainian Negotiations
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced that the Russian side has promptly developed a relevant memorandum, as agreed, which outlines our position on all aspects of reliably overcoming the main causes of the crisis.
“Our delegation, headed by Medinsky, is ready to present this memorandum to the Ukrainian delegation and provide necessary clarifications during the second phase of the direct negotiations, which will resume in Istanbul next Monday, June 2. I would like to express my gratitude once again to our Turkish partners for providing a hospitable platform, as confirmed yesterday by Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan during his visit to Moscow. We hope that all those who are genuinely, and not just verbally, interested in the success of the peace process will support the conduct of a new phase of Russian-Ukrainian direct negotiations in Istanbul,” said Lavrov.
