Israel Modifies Trump's Gaza Plan

Israeli authorities have participated in the development of U.S. President Donald Trump's plan for a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip and the cessation of the Palestine-Israel conflict, making several changes to the final text of the document, reports The Wall Street Journal (WSJ).

The most notable modification pertains to the issue of statehood. The text of the plan mentions the possibility of establishing an independent Palestinian state, but there is no reference to a two-state solution.

It is noted that the likelihood of Saudi Arabia financing the American leader's plan is quite low due to the lack of a clear prospect for a two-state solution to the Palestine-Israel conflict.

The White House had previously published a plan for resolving the conflict in the Gaza Strip. It calls for a complete cessation of military operations and the release of hostages held by the radical Palestinian group Hamas within 72 hours.
