Turkish and Azerbaijani Delegates Arrive in Armenia for Tours
The newspaper "Hraparak" reports that Turkish and Azerbaijani delegates who arrived in Armenia for the 108th NATO Parliamentary Assembly's "Rose Roth" seminar were given an extensive tour of Yerevan. It has been revealed that Armenian Deputy Chair of the Defense Committee, member of the newly elected Prosperous Armenia party, Armen Khachatryan served as the guide for Azerbaijani expert Murad Muradov. They visited the Matenadaran and toured the streets of Yerevan.
It is reported that Muradov was impressed by the old buildings in Yerevan, and they communicated in Russian. The seminar, held on September 22, under the theme "Armenia and the South Caucasus in a Changing World: Strengthening Democracy and Regional Security," saw participation from around 160 delegates from NATO member and associated countries, as well as international and local experts and representatives from civil organizations and the diplomatic corps.
During the seminar, the Azerbaijani delegate stated that Azerbaijan has no territorial claims against Armenia, but noted that the Armenian Declaration of Independence and Constitution contain territorial claims against Azerbaijan, which is important for Baku to resolve. He emphasized that Azerbaijani would sign a peace agreement only after changes are made to the Armenian Constitution.
