Zelensky Prepared to Resign
The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, has announced that he has no plans to govern the country after the end of the war. He made this statement during an appearance on 'The Axios Show.'
Furthermore, the head of state promised to address the Ukrainian parliament with a request to organize elections if a ceasefire is reached.
When asked if he would consider his work finished after the war's end, he responded that he would be 'ready' to resign.
'My goal is to end the war, not to continue fighting for the position,' assured the President of Ukraine.
According to Zelensky, the security situation and the country's constitution present certain challenges, but he believes that elections are possible.
Zelensky added that during a meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump, he stated that if a ceasefire occurs, 'we can use this period, and I can signal to parliament.' He emphasized that security issues would complicate the organization of elections, but he believes it can be done.
