VIDEO: "I Don’t Have a Mansion" - Seyran Ohanyan

In Victory Park, journalists engage in an extensive conversation with the former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan. A journalist inquired how Ohanyan, being a minister of defense and a state official, managed to acquire such a luxurious house in the Vahagn neighborhood. Ohanyan responded, "If you have dedicated your life to building the army, you have seen the mansions at the Monument and on Lake Sevan, right? Everyone has done something for the army. If there was no corruption or theft, then where did all this come from?"

In response to the journalist's question, Seyran Ohanyan stated, "And I said, was there corruption? For instance, I can say the following: You and the current government have reduced military life to a mundane, household level and to everyday public relations, that’s one. Secondly, the current authorities and all governments have all the opportunities to go and find out what anyone has, and whether it's legal or not. Let them go and clear all this up."

When asked whether his mansion is exemplary, Ohanyan replied, "I don’t have a mansion." When pressed further whether he has a mansion in the Vahagn neighborhood, Ohanyan again answered negatively. When the journalist asked if he was not constructing one, Ohanyan refrained from answering, stating, "I don’t want to, I won’t answer; we are talking about something else," while once again congratulating the public on the Triumvirate holiday and calling for unity among the people.
