If the people disagree with the approaches of the 'Fourth Republic', they will not elect us. Galyan
It is fundamentally wrong to say that the political team imposes something. This was stated by the Minister of Justice, Srbuhi Galyan, in a conversation with reporters after the government meeting, responding to the remark about whether closing the chapter of the Third Republic and declaring a Fourth Republic is presenting the desires of the political team as a necessity for the entire nation.
The political team is about outlining its approaches, completing them, and presenting further actions, including in the form of a program. We know that elections are planned, and if the people do not want to have a government whose approaches they do not agree with, they will not elect it.
Questions related to the declaration of the Fourth Republic, which were discussed during the party congress, can only become a reality by the will of the people. There is no other option. The people must decide,” said Minister of Justice Srbuhi Galyan.
Regarding the statement that the endpoint of the Fourth Republic will be laid with the adoption of a new constitution, Galyan said, “This means that perhaps the principles based on which the Fourth Republic will operate will be adopted and written in a more reliable manner for our state. However, from a legal standpoint, we must do our best to avoid facing any issues.”
According to her, the declaration of the Fourth Republic is unrelated to the issue of maintaining or not maintaining the Declaration of Independence. “Regardless of whether the Declaration of Independence is maintained or not, that is a historical fact. The Third Republic was able to exist only thanks to the Declaration of Independence. It is a historical document. We cannot erase that declaration from history. We have not yet discussed the issue of maintaining the reference to the Declaration of Independence in the Constitution,” Galyan stated.
