Court Finds Archbishop Mikayel Guilty

The general jurisdiction court of Yerevan's Avan and Nor Nork administrative districts held the final hearing regarding political prisoner Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan. Armine Meliksetyan has published the verdict.

It is noteworthy that the Archbishop has been charged for his opposition speeches. The court found Archbishop Mikayel Ajapahyan guilty under part 2 of Article 422 of the Criminal Code of Armenia. The judge announced that the measure of restraint would remain unchanged.

"Don't put me aside, it will be fine; my voice is not trembling," said Mikayel Ajapahyan as he left the courtroom.
