Nikol Pashinyan and Sooronbay Jeenbekov Hold Discussion

During a working visit in Bishkek, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan met with the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sooronbay Jeenbekov, as reported by the Government's press service.

Welcoming the Prime Minister in Bishkek, Sooronbay Jeenbekov noted that today’s meeting is a good opportunity to discuss the prospects for the development of both bilateral and multilateral relations. “Mr. Prime Minister, during our presidency in the CSTO, we have exerted all efforts toward the further development of the organization. We are interested in jointly responding to all possible challenges, as well as developing relations with our friendly country, Armenia,” said the Kyrgyz President.

Nikol Pashinyan thanked him for the warm welcome and added that bilateral political relations have a long history, and governments should take steps to also develop economic cooperation. “We have the opportunity to give new momentum to trade and economic ties, and there is the necessary potential for this. In the 21st century, geographic distance is not an issue; we need to initiate projects that will promote economic ties between the two countries,” said Nikol Pashinyan.

The Prime Minister, addressing the existing domestic political situation in Kyrgyzstan, expressed his satisfaction regarding the stabilization and resolution of the situation. “We closely cooperate within the frameworks of the CSTO, EAEU, and CIS, which creates a good opportunity for both bilateral and multilateral cooperation,” noted Nikol Pashinyan.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister of Armenia and the President of Kyrgyzstan discussed various issues related to Armenian-Kyrgyz relations, emphasizing the importance of implementing necessary steps towards economic cooperation and expanding business ties. The parties also exchanged views on cooperation within the framework of integration associations.
