Trump on Imposing Sanctions Against Countries Buying Russian Oil
US President Donald Trump has stated that one should not expect Washington to impose sanctions on China for purchasing Russian oil as long as Europe continues to buy it, reports Fox News.
Trump believes that sanctions imposed by Washington's allies, including European allies, against China could influence the resolution of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, as China is the "largest buyer of Russian oil." He added that Beijing "has other levers of influence over Moscow."
"If you want to win, do not buy oil from Russia. We will see where that takes you," Trump concluded.
It is noteworthy that earlier, UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer agreed with Trump's statements regarding the necessity for US European allies to stop purchasing Russian oil.
