Russia Will Not Leave the Caucasus: Alexey Erkhova

Russia has been, is, and will remain an active participant in the processes of the South Caucasus, a fact recognized by all countries in the region, including Ankara. This statement was made by the Russian ambassador Alexey Erkhova.

“As for the words that Russia is leaving the Caucasus, I cannot agree. I believe the opposite is true: in this region, Russia has been, is, and will be. By the way, this is acknowledged by all the countries here, including Turkey, with which we maintain close working relations, including on South Caucasus issues,” the diplomat commented on statements suggesting that the US aims to limit Russia's influence in the South Caucasus.

He noted that Moscow and Ankara are jointly promoting the “3+3” regional consultation platform.
