No such incident has been recorded, thus no one has been beaten: Aragatsotn Governor on 'beating' reports from Hatzashen
In response to the publication by the Mediaport news website titled "Talinites assaulted the Aragatsotn governor and other members of the group campaigning for Pashinyan," Aragatsotn Governor David Gevorgyan has denied the report on his Facebook page.
He stated that no incident has been recorded in Hatzashen, therefore no one has assaulted him. The denial is presented below:
"The information in the article claiming that, during my visit to the Talin region as part of the electoral campaign, there was a brawl in the Hatzashen community, has no correlation with reality, is false, and is entirely fabricated. No such incident has been recorded during my campaign visits, therefore no one has been beaten, and even more, the police did not intervene.
Neither Aragatsotn Governor David Gevorgyan nor supporters of the 'Civil Contract' party can be assaulted by anyone, and we call on our supporters to remain restrained and not to fall for provocations, firmly responding to those who incite intentional tensions.
It is clear that certain circles are seeking to deliberately distort reality by circulating such fake publications and are unsuccessfully attempting to tarnish my honor, dignity, and good reputation.
I inform that I am ready to visit the Hatzashen community with journalists at any day and time, meet with residents in their presence, and clarify whether any incident of alleged beating has taken place or not.
Based on Article 8, Part 1 of the Law on Mass Media of the Republic of Armenia, I demand the publication of this denial. Pursuant to Article 8, Part 9 of the same law, in the case of refusal to publish the denial, the individual has the right to apply to the court as prescribed by law."
