Arrest Made in Connection with Assault on Journalist: Ministry of Internal Affairs

The Ministry of Internal Affairs informed Tert.am that on September 12, a call was received from a citizen reporting an assault by a masked individual. The collected documents have been forwarded to the Investigative Committee.

“On September 15, thanks to the efforts of officers from the Central Division of the Community Police, one of the participants in the incident was arrested and presented to the pre-trial authority. The vehicle that transported the masked individual to the scene has also been identified and moved to a designated area,” the ministry reported.

It is noteworthy that yesterday, journalist and former mayor of Yerevan Hayk Marutyan’s spokesperson, Hakob Karapetyan, announced via a Facebook post that Avetik Babayan, the acting head of the Public Order Service of the Yerevan municipality, had initially threatened him and used foul language over his Facebook post.
