A Tribute to Respect: Pashinyan Responds to Criticism Directed at Actor
What surprises me the most is that we come to Byurakan, sit down, and weep for Western Armenia. Yet we do not notice that Byurakan itself is Armenia. This was stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan after the open-air play 'Fence,' responding to questions from actors about what message was conveyed to the audience.
“The biggest message of the performance was that, Mr. Prime Minister. In other words, they are arguing over that meter, but there are global issues that we ignore, which remain unaddressed,” said actor Mkrtich Arzumanyan.
“We have this here, but our eyes are fixed on that Armenia, the one that does not exist. Also, the message is contained in the idea of creating that one Armenia,” added actor Tigran Gyulumyan.
Mkrtich Arzumanyan faced significant criticism from the public. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan made a post stating: 'Mkrtich Arzumanyan: a powerful artist, a modest person. A tribute to my respect.'
