Ali Akbar Velayati Harshly Criticizes Azerbaijan

Ali Akbar Velayati, the senior advisor on international affairs to the leader of the Islamic Revolution, has strongly condemned the news regarding a summit of Zionist rabbis in Azerbaijan, describing it as unprecedented and "anti-Islamic." In a statement shared on social media, Velayati expressed his astonishment and regret, noting his hope that the report does not reflect reality.

"This is the first time that the Azerbaijani government has committed such a violation that undermines Islam and the global reputation of Shi'ism," he stated. Emphasizing Azerbaijan's Islamic heritage, Velayati asserted that the Azerbaijani people, who have been Muslim for nearly 1200 years, will undoubtedly reject such an action.

He warned that the summit could aim to prolong the so-called Abraham Accords and might involve Azerbaijan in the agreement. Velayati also questioned Baku's collaboration with Israel, citing the hostile actions of the Israeli regime against Muslim countries.

He concluded that the vibrant people of Azerbaijan and the Caucasus would be dissatisfied with this anti-Islamic act, and this unwarranted step will ultimately harm Azerbaijan.
