«Jhoghovurd». $7 Million Bribe. Mikhail Baghdasarov Files Complaint Against Serzh Sargsyan at NSS
«Jhoghovurd» newspaper reports that details have emerged regarding businessman Mikhail Baghdasarov's complaint against Serzh Sargsyan filed at the National Security Service (NSS). Specifically, it has become known what Mikhail Baghdasarov stated in his application to the law enforcement authorities.
In his report, he noted that, in accordance with agreements made with high-ranking officials, he conducted entrepreneurial activities in the Republic of Armenia between 1998 and 2010, and during that period, he transferred approximately $7,000,000 in cash to a high-ranking official.
Furthermore, it has been revealed that a criminal case has been initiated regarding this matter at the NSS, under the features of Article 311, Part 4, Point 2 of the RA Criminal Code (receiving a large-scale bribe by an official, meaning receiving or soliciting cash, property, property rights, securities, or any other advantage through themselves or an intermediary for themselves or another person to perform or refrain from performing any act within the scope of their authority or to assist in such performance or inaction by exploiting their official position, is punishable by imprisonment for a term of seven to twelve years with or without confiscation of property).
It is worth reminding that on April 17, information was released indicating that another criminal case has been initiated against the chairman of the Republican Party of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan, in addition to the already submitted fuel case, which pertains to bribery. Specifically, it was reported that a businessman has testified in this case, claiming that he paid $7 million in cash to Serzh Sargsyan.
Moreover, sources from law enforcement have informed ArmLur.am that the businessman who testified in relation to the criminal case involving Serzh Sargsyan is his longtime friend, bankrupt businessman Mikhail Baghdasarov.
