US Contributed to Sharp Rise in International Oil Prices: Iran's Foreign Ministry

The President of the Iranian Parliament, Mohamad Bagher Qalibaf, addressed the US administration's policy of sanctions on his social media account, deeming it ineffective. The spokesperson of the Parliament mentioned that despite the imposed restrictions, the country's energy infrastructure continues to operate normally. He specifically emphasized that no extraordinary incidents or interruptions in drilling operations have been recorded in recent days.

According to Qalibaf, Washington relies on faulty advice, which negatively impacts global markets. As stated by the Iranian official, the actions of those supporting the 'theory of sanctions' have contributed to a sharp rise in international oil prices, bringing them to the threshold of $120 per barrel. He predicted that if such approaches continue, the price of crude could even reach $140.

The head of Iran's legislative body also criticized the American administration's mindset, stressing that the issue lies not in the theories themselves but in being disconnected from reality. He expressed willingness to ensure transparency about the situation, even proposing to conduct live broadcasts from sites to demonstrate the ineffectiveness of the sanctions.
