Poland Closes Border with Belarus

Poland has closed all border crossings with Belarus that were previously operational. This was announced by the head of the Republic's Ministry of Internal Affairs, Marcin Kiewinski, reports TASS.

"We closed the border with Belarus at midnight. This is due to the 'Zapad-2025' military exercises. Traffic will be restored, but only when we are confident that the safety of Poles is guaranteed. Economically, we will try to ensure that traffic at the border is restored as soon as possible," he added.

It is noteworthy that the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has called Warsaw's decision baseless and anti-people. Meanwhile, the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs has urged Poland to consider the consequences of closing the border with Belarus and to reconsider the decision as soon as possible.
