Europeans are hindering the resolution of the Ukrainian crisis, says Peskov
Europeans are hindering the process of resolving the Ukrainian crisis. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov, the press secretary of the Russian President.
He recalled that it was Europe that was moving towards Russia's borders as part of NATO: "Russia was not moving towards Europe with its military infrastructure, but Europe, being part of NATO, which is an instrument of confrontation rather than peace and stability, has always been moving towards our borders," said Peskov.
According to him, Russia remains open to resolving the Ukraine conflict through peaceful dialogue. One should not expect lightning-fast results.
"Certainly, one should take off the rose-colored glasses and not expect that the negotiation process will yield lightning-fast results. I want to remind you, probably, of the words of former US President Donald Trump. He said that initially, he thought everything could be resolved in a very short time, but then he realized it would take more time," added Peskov, responding to a question about whether the negotiation process is at an impasse.
