Emergency Case in Vayots Dzor Region: Meningococcal Infection Detected in Resident, Leading to Fatality
On September 9, a resident of the Vayots Dzor region was diagnosed with "Meningitis, Meningococcemia." The patient was hospitalized in serious condition; however, unfortunately, the patient was declared biologically deceased the following day.
The National Center for Disease Control and Prevention reports that epidemiological investigations and all necessary measures to prevent the spread of the infection have been carried out. Monitoring of close contacts continues with home visits.
It is important to note that "Meningitis, Meningococcemia" is an acute infectious disease caused by meningococci. The infection is transmitted through respiratory droplets.
