Armenian President on Major Gains with Azerbaijan in Washington

In Washington, the most important thing we achieved is that both sides, referring to Azerbaijan and Armenia, agreed to live in peace. Especially at the highest level, the leaders of the two countries declared that we are really ready, and will do everything to simply start living peacefully. This was stated by Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan in an interview with RTVI News.

In response to a journalist's question about whether he believes that Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will not violate Armenia's territorial integrity, Vahagn Khachaturyan noted that this point is mentioned in the declaration accepted by Armenia and Azerbaijan. “The declaration outlines the main principles of regulation, the main principles of TRIPP road operations. There is territorial integrity, secondly, independence, thirdly, authority, fourthly, reciprocity, and fifthly, sovereignty. That's all. We will work according to these principles. What someone calls differently or what someone names in their own way, this route is called TRIPP,” said the Armenian President.

He also clarified what Aliyev means when speaking about the need for unimpeded passage on this route, and whether he hints that there should be no Armenians there, but Americans instead. “No. There will be no Americans, no one will be there. There will be Armenians there,” said the Armenian President.
