Avinyan Has Not Even Been Questioned in the ANIF Case, Says Anna Grigoryan
During her speech in the National Assembly today, Anna Grigoryan, a member of the "Armenia" faction, stated: "Today we are discussing the report presented by the Anti-Corruption Commission, and when we talk about corruption, I certainly cannot avoid mentioning ANIF.
The deputy recalled that ANIF was a foundation created to attract international donors and bring investments to Armenia, but it existed for only a few years. "As a result, 25 billion drams have been squandered from the state budget—straight from taxpayers’ pockets. 25 billion drams have evaporated, and so far, no one has been held accountable for this. There are three people involved in this case, two of whom are simply not in Armenia," she said.
According to the deputy, the Investigation Committee waited until those two left Armenia.
Addressing Tigran Avinyan, she commented: "After all, he held an important position in that foundation; however, naturally, he is not among the accused, and he has not even been questioned. But it turns out that there are quite successful acquisitions in Avinyan's family. For example, Avinyan's mother recently acquired a house worth $490,000, and his father has purchased a house worth approximately $200,000 in Sevan. In other words, within a few years, $490,000 is being acquired by his mother, and $200,000 by his father. So, how is it possible to have this many successes all at once?" Grigoryan noted.
