Azerbaijan Proposes Naming the 'Zangezur Corridor' After Ilham Aliyev
The 'Zangezur Corridor' should also bear the name of President Ilham Aliyev. This was stated by the First Deputy Speaker of the Milli Majlis, Ali Ahmedov, during a special session of the parliament dedicated to the topic of 'Washington Agreements: The Triumph of Peaceful Diplomacy and Wise Leadership.'
Ali Ahmedov noted that a new history of Azerbaijan is being created: 'We are all witnessing the creation of new enlightened pages. Azerbaijan and President Ilham Aliyev are not limited to creating only Azerbaijan's new history but have also undertaken the mission of creating a new history for the region. The strength of any state is demonstrated by three factors: the economy, the army, and diplomacy. The progress of diplomacy depends more on the individual and leadership. The author of the significant diplomatic victory of Azerbaijan achieved in Washington is President Ilham Aliyev.'
This also marks a new phase in Azerbaijan's relations with the United States, which will lead to further expansion of Azerbaijan's international economic integration. At this meeting, an international guarantee for the implementation of the 'Zangezur Corridor' has been obtained. The brightest peak of Azerbaijani diplomacy is the negotiations held in Washington and the successes achieved there. The sole author of this great diplomatic victory in Washington is President Ilham Aliyev.
'The Zangezur Corridor' will be a very important project in a new history. Just as the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline bears the name of the national leader Heydar Aliyev, so too should the 'Zangezur Corridor' carry the name of President Ilham Aliyev.'
