That Idea is Unacceptable: Scholz

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz has responded to U.S. President Donald Trump's proposal to resettle residents of Gaza in Arab countries. “In light of the recent public statements, I am saying clearly that any resettlement plan, particularly the idea of expelling residents of Gaza to Egypt or Jordan, is unacceptable,” Scholz stated.

The Chancellor has once again called for a resolution to the conflict between Israel and the Palestinians through the establishment of two states. “In my opinion, this specifically means that it must be clear that the Palestinian National Authority will bear responsibility for the Gaza Strip,” Scholz emphasized.
