The State Cannot See Who Transfers Money to You or Whom You Transfer Money To: Tunyan

Babken Tunyan, a member of the 'Civil Contract' faction in the National Assembly, wrote on his Facebook page regarding the income declaration system. He stated that some people are spreading misinformation that banking secrecy has been abolished and that state bodies and their employees can access any information about your bank account.

“This is not true. The state and state bodies do not have access to your bank accounts. The state does not see who transfers money to you or whom you transfer money to. The state does not see how many times money has been transferred to you or how many times you have transferred money. The state does not see how much money is transferred to you each time or how much you transfer. The state cannot see the purposes of the inflows or outflows of your account.

What does the state see (in this case, the State Revenue Committee)? It only receives two figures from the bank: the total amount of monetary inflows and the total amount of outflows from your accounts over the course of the year. Any other information about your bank account can only be accessible to the state with your consent (if you provide the statement when necessary) or by court order. Do not believe in misinformation.”
