Supporting Ukraine's Territorial Integrity: Statement from Turkey
During a webinar organized by the Circle Foundation, Turkey's President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's press secretary, Ibrahim Kalın, stated that the consequences of Russia's military action against Ukraine would be significant and irreversible. He emphasized that Turkey is ready to assume any role in addressing the issue. This was reported by Ermenihaber.am.
Noting that Turkey does not wish for any military clashes or wars to occur in Ukraine or between Russia and Ukraine, Kalın reaffirmed that Turkey fully supports Ukraine's territorial integrity and political sovereignty.
Discussing Turkey's efforts to resolve the issue, Kalın mentioned that Erdoğan is communicating with Russian President Putin and Ukrainian President Zelensky within this framework. “If they wish (Putin and Zelensky), Erdoğan has invited both of them to Turkey to organize a meeting and resolve their issues and disagreements. Turkey is ready to take on any possible role to reduce the tension between Russia and Ukraine. We do this both as friends of Russia and Ukraine and as NATO allies,” Kalın elaborated.
Kalın also announced that Erdoğan would travel to Ukraine in a few weeks to meet with President Zelensky.
