Did the Air Defense System Operate During Enemy UAV Usage on January 11? The Ministry of Defense Responds
Days ago, Auroranews sent a written inquiry to Defense Minister Suren Papikyan regarding several important issues.
Specifically, we inquired whether, after the provocations carried out by Azerbaijani units on the eastern direction of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on January 11, which resulted in 3 deaths, the Air Defense System had operated during the use of UAVs by Azerbaijan? If not, why?
Are the claims true that Armenian servicemen have fought against enemy UAVs with their attached rifles?
In response to the first point of the inquiry, the minister stated: “Concerning the first question, I inform you that the personnel of the combat outposts acted in accordance with the requirements of sub-paragraph 7 of paragraph 1 of section 1 of the ‘Combat Regulations, Part Three’ set in operation by the order No. 1412 of the Minister of Defense of the RA dated on 03.11.2006, fighting against the adversary’s initial offensive forces and means with all available means.”
