The US and EU Prepare to Discuss New Sanctions Against Russia

A group of European officials will visit the United States on September 8 to discuss various forms of economic pressure on Russia, including the possibility of imposing new sanctions. This was reported by the BBC.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Basset previously spoke with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.

Donald Trump had planned to impose sanctions over the summer if there was no progress in the peace settlement process, but he did not do so and instead held a summit with Vladimir Putin in Alaska on August 15.
