Costa Calls on Putin to Initiate Direct Talks with Zelensky

The President of the European Council, Antonio Costa, has called on Russian President Putin to initiate direct talks with Ukrainian President Zelensky.

Costa noted that President Trump's initiative has created new dynamics, and Zelensky has accepted it, while Putin continues to delay dialogue. He reminded that the Russian leader promised to start negotiations in Alaska, but instead intensified attacks on Ukrainian cities.

“If we want peace, please, let’s go to President Zelensky and start peace negotiations,” Costa stated.
