Trump Directs Pentagon to Prepare for Deterrence Against Russia and China

White House leader Donald Trump has directed the Pentagon to prepare for deterrence against Russia and China. This was announced in an interview with Fox News by U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, as reported by TASS.

“Unfortunately, the weakness of the previous administration has brought Russia and China closer together. This was a terrible event, caused by the absence of American leadership and strength,” Hegseth stated. “That’s why President Trump has tasked us to be ready to reshape our military, restore the fighting spirit, and regain the power of deterrence.”

The Pentagon chief emphasized that the U.S. is not seeking conflict, but being prepared for it “ensures the safety of Americans.”
