Turkey's Nationalist Movement Party Abandons School Construction Project in Shushi
The president of Turkey's Nationalist Movement Party, Devlet Bahçeli, has announced that the party is abandoning its project to construct a school in Shushi. Bahçeli made the announcement via a post on his Twitter microblog, adding that the funds donated by supporters for the project would be returned.
The intention of the Nationalist Movement Party to build a school in Shushi became known on January 26, 2021. On February 1, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Artsakh issued a statement expressing serious concern regarding the intentions of the far-right nationalist Turkish Nationalist Movement Party and its affiliated extremist neo-fascist organization, the Grey Wolves, to undertake certain projects in the occupied territories of the Republic of Artsakh, particularly in Shushi.
The statement from the Artsakh Ministry emphasized that the presence of external forces promoting the ideologies of pan-Turkism and neo-fascism, and utilizing terrorism as a primary means to achieve their goals, poses a significant threat not only to the Republic of Artsakh but also to regional and global security.
