Seyran Ohanyan and Artsvik Minasyan Stripped of Parliamentary Immunity
The leader of the "Armenia" faction in the National Assembly and former Minister of Defense Seyran Ohanyan, along with the faction's secretary and former Minister of Environment Artsvik Minasyan, have been stripped of their parliamentary immunity. This decision comes after the announcement of the results from a closed, secret ballot by Narek Babayan, the chairman of the Assembly’s Counting Committee and a member of the "Civil Contract" faction.
According to the results, 59 members voted in favor of lifting Seyran Ohanyan's immunity, with 0 votes against and 0 abstentions. Similarly, 59 members voted in favor of stripping Artsvik Minasyan of his parliamentary immunity, with 0 against and 0 abstaining, thereby allowing for public criminal prosecution against both figures.
