Pashinyan is Committed to This Direction: Both Russia and Iran Will Realize Their Fears Were in Vain, Erdogan
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that the opening of the "Zangezur Corridor" will activate land and rail routes in the region. He emphasized that the corridor's opening will bring peace and stability to the region, allow land and railways to operate, and open border checkpoints. This will have a positive impact on many sectors, primarily trade.
According to him, the South Caucasus will find the peace it is striving for. "I saw this hope during my bilateral meeting with Ilham Aliyev. The documents signed at the White House undoubtedly accelerated the process of normalizing relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan. Both sides overcame numerous obstacles on the path to peace and approached the final phase," he said.
“At the same time, I had meetings with Azerbaijan's President Ilham Aliyev and Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. In both meetings, I saw that Pashinyan is committed to the same direction. The opening of border checkpoints, the activation of transportation routes, and the enhancement of trade will provide significant positive momentum for the region. Other countries in the region will also be able to take advantage of new cooperation opportunities. I am confident that in the future, both Russia and Iran will understand that their fears were in vain,” Erdogan concluded.
