Another Notable Azerbaijani Arrested in Russia

Another notable Azerbaijani has been arrested in Russia. Shahlar Novruzov, a prominent figure in the Azerbaijani diaspora in Kuban and the owner of the Tuapse cargo terminal and the "Old Baku" restaurant in Krasnodar, has been apprehended, according to "Kommersant."

Mr. Novruzov is accused of attempting to steal real estate worth 919 million rubles. The investigation believes that the perpetrators, including Shahlar Novruzov, presented a marriage certificate to the Prikubansky District Court, allegedly issued in Azerbaijan, to facilitate the crime.

According to law enforcement authorities, the document used by the suspects in an attempt to appropriate the assets was forged. Earlier, four Azerbaijani entrepreneurs were arrested in Russia for bribing police officers.
