Azerbaijan Targets Stepanakert with Airstrikes, Civilian Casualties Reported
The adversary continues to strike the capital of Artsakh, Stepanakert. This was reported by the representative of the Armenian Ministry of Defense, Artsrun Hovhannisyan.
“There are again strikes being carried out, there are damages, and civilian casualties,” Hovhannisyan stated. The ministry representative informed “Armenpress” that the Azerbaijani side has also targeted Stepanakert using aircraft.
Since early morning on September 27, Azerbaijan has begun active shelling along the entire contact line with Artsakh. Civilian areas, including the capital Stepanakert, have been shelled, resulting in civilian casualties in various regions of Artsakh.
Intense battles have been ongoing across the entire contact line, with both sides suffering significant losses in personnel and weaponry. Azerbaijani losses reportedly far exceed those of the Armenian side. The Azerbaijani Armed Forces have also targeted military and civilian infrastructure in Armenia. Evidence has been found regarding Turkey's involvement, the transport of mercenaries from Syria, and their use against Artsakh.
As of October 4, Azerbaijan’s armed forces continue to target the peaceful population of Stepanakert using systems such as “Polonaise” and “Smerch.”
The President of Artsakh, Arayik Harutyunyan, has stated that military installations stationed in major cities of Azerbaijan will henceforth be targets of the defense army, calling on the Azerbaijani population to leave these cities quickly to avoid potential losses.
