Journalists Filming in Artsakh Accidentally Encounter Azerbaijani Saboteur Group: Wargonzo
Journalists conducting filming in Artsakh accidentally encountered an Azerbaijani saboteur group. Our colleague, military journalist Kristina Melnikova, was among those journalists. This was reported by the Wargonzo Telegram channel.
Melnikova commented on the situation in an exclusive interview with Wargonzo: “We went to the village of Avetaranots (formerly known as Chanakhchi) to communicate with peaceful residents. Recently, missiles fell there, and as far as I know, there were injured among the peaceful residents. However, it turned out that the situation in the village was tense. Representatives of the self-defense forces we met on the way informed us that the activities of an Azerbaijani saboteur group were observed in the area, that they were very close to us in the forest, and that an artillery attack was expected. The journalists were asked to hide, as the situation was unpredictable. They went to repel the attack, and the escorts evacuated the journalists because, according to them, the risks were serious,” said Kristina Melnikova.
It is worth noting that the founder of the Wargonzo project, Semyon Pegov, has been covering military operations since the very first days of the war; however, he is currently in Moscow. Nevertheless, this does not prevent the media from following the situation in Artsakh and providing updates.
