Pashinyan on Expected Unblocking and Armenia Reaching Its Highest Point of Prosperity

Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated during a government meeting that it is with joy that he acknowledges a 7% growth in economic activity for the first seven months of the year. He noted that the key sectors of the economy are growing at a fairly good pace.

"According to recent months' data, the economic activity has shown signs of acceleration, as we recorded a 9.1% economic activity rate in July. Of course, the figures for the manufacturing industry are somewhat concerning over the seven-month period. However, there are processes related to re-export which have changed; in July we have a 4.2% increase in industry, although traditionally, industry has been one of our weakest points. But I believe that political and regional processes, including the expected unblocking, should usher Armenia into a new quality and new level."

In this context, Pashinyan emphasized that it may sound quite ambitious, but as of today, August 28, 2025, Armenia is at its historically highest point of prosperity. "I am not stating anything extraordinary because our logic of development is that at any point in time, in any subsequent year, we should have the highest level of our prosperity. In the previous period, especially during budget performance discussions, I compared average salaries with job positions and noted that citizens of Armenia are living at least 50% better than in 2018."

He added, "We have discussed agriculture, construction which is on the rise, services are increasing, trade is growing, and in July, we recorded industrial growth."
