US State Department to Review Visas of 55 Million Foreigners; Risk of Revocation or Deportation
The U.S. State Department has announced that it is conducting investigations into immigration violations concerning over 55 million individuals holding valid visas in the United States, a process that could lead to the revocation of their visas or deportation. This was confirmed in a statement released by the State Department, which noted that since the beginning of the year, more than 6,000 student visas have been revoked due to various violations, including expired visas, according to Associated Press.
"All visa holders in the U.S. are subject to 'continuous scrutiny' to detect any indicators of non-compliance with documentation requirements," the State Department stated. It is reported that if it is determined that these 55 million visa holders have violated immigration regulations, their visas could be revoked or they could face deportation.
These violations may include overstaying their visa in the United States, committing crimes, posing a threat to public safety, participating in terrorist activities, or aiding terrorist organizations.
