I Spoke with Putin. A Tripartite Meeting Will Take Place: Trump
The President of the United States, Donald Trump, has announced via a statement that after a meeting with European leaders, he called Russian President Vladimir Putin and initiated preparations for a meeting between Putin and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, following which a tripartite meeting is expected to occur.
Trump emphasized that the meeting with the leaders was productive. “During the meeting, we discussed security guarantees for Ukraine that various European countries will provide in coordination with the United States. Everyone is very excited about the possibility of establishing peace between Russia and Ukraine,” he stated.
“After the meeting concluded, I called President Putin and started the preparatory work for organizing a meeting between President Putin and President Zelensky at a location to be determined later. After that meeting, we will hold a tripartite meeting involving both presidents and myself. Once again, I would like to emphasize that this is a very good and timely step towards ending the war that has been ongoing for nearly four years,” Trump added.
Vice President Pence, Secretary of State Rubio, and Special Envoy Witkoff are coordinating their efforts with Russia and Ukraine. “Thank you for your attention to this matter,” Trump concluded.
