Aliyev on the Road Passing Through Armenian Territory

Today, a meeting took place in the city of Turkmenbashi between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov, the Chairman of the upper chamber of Turkmenistan.

During the meeting, Ilham Aliyev spoke about new transportation possibilities and emphasized that there is potential in the East-West transport corridor that passes through the territories of Turkmenistan and Azerbaijan. "The implementation of a new transport corridor connecting Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan, passing through the territory of Armenia, will lead to an increase in inter-transport shipments and transit potential between our countries, as well as stimulate the development of the entire region," Aliyev stated.

The parties agreed to deepen trade and economic relations between their countries and provide them with new impetus. Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov conveyed his congratulations to Aliyev regarding the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan and the outcomes achieved.
