US President Donald Trump has compared his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin to the legendary photo of American Vice President Richard Nixon and Soviet Communist Party General Secretary Nikita Khrushchev. The leader of the White House shared two photos on the social media platform Truth Social.

The historical image was captured by photographer Elliott Erwitt. The photo shows Trump and Putin together during a recent meeting in Anchorage, Alaska. The lower photo depicts Nixon pointing his finger at Soviet leader Nikita Khrushchev during their negotiations. Trump used a similar gesture, pointing at Putin.
