No Change in Our Position Regarding the Church: Papoyan
We discussed current political issues, including the likelihood of early elections. This was stated by Gevorg Papoyan, the Deputy Chairman of the 'Civil Contract' party and Minister of Economy, during a conversation with reporters following a meeting of the party's parliamentary faction.
“Thoughts about early elections are always present, which require additional justification; however, they are unfounded. This means there will be no early elections. We have concluded that the people have given us a mandate for five years, so there is no need to hold early elections,” said Papoyan.
He noted that the campaign initiated by the Civil Contract against the Church has not been discussed. “We have no change in our position regarding the Church; those individuals who live an indecent life do not have the right to occupy high positions within the Church, in our opinion,” he added.
