Israeli Army Urges Evacuation of Civilians in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have informed medical personnel and international organizations operating in the Gaza Strip of the need to prepare for the evacuation of residents in the southern part of the enclave ahead of a planned operation to assume military control over the city. This was reported by the IDF press spokesperson's office.

"As part of the IDF's preparations for the evacuation of residents from the southern Gaza Strip, for their own safety, the IDF's Gaza Coordination Unit made preliminary calls two days ago to medical staff and international organizations in the northern part of the enclave to prepare for the evacuation of inhabitants from the southern area," the statement said.

It was noted that IDF officers drew the attention of medical personnel to changes in hospital infrastructure prepared for receiving patients and injured individuals in the southern part, as well as an increase in the supply of necessary medical equipment in line with requests from international humanitarian organizations.

The military also communicated to Gaza's medical staff the need to relocate medical equipment from Gaza to the southern part of the enclave to ensure that all patients in the southern area receive treatment and that hospitals are ready to accept patients from the north.

It should be added that earlier, Israel's Defense Minister Israel Katz had confirmed the operation to capture the city of Gaza, while the IDF's press office announced that around 60,000 reserve enlistment notices had been sent out in preparation for the operation.
