Lukashenko’s Request from Iran Related to Russia and Armenia
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko announced during a meeting in Minsk with his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian that Belarus welcomes Iran's involvement in the trade and economic processes of the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU), as reported by the Belta news agency.
The commencement of a comprehensive free trade agreement between the EEU and Iran expands the geography of trade relations and opens new markets for the countries involved. The Belarusian president is confident that this represents a significant contribution to the formation of a long-term strategic partnership between Iran and the EEU, which will strengthen the economic security of all participants.
“Iran is trying to convince us to more actively utilize the logistics route passing through Russia and Iran. Russia, Armenia, Iran, and the Persian Gulf. They are trying to persuade us. That is precisely what we need first and foremost,” stated the state leader.
