Katz Confirms Israel's Plan to Undertake Assault on Gaza
The Israeli Defense Minister, Israel Katz, has confirmed the plan for the Israeli Defense Forces to undertake an assault on Gaza, naming the operation 'Gideon’s Chariots II.' This operation is a continuation of the first 'Gideon’s Chariots.'
Reserve orders will be issued to the Israeli military forces to carry out the operation. Preparations have also been confirmed for the evacuation of civilian personnel from the southern region of Gaza, aimed at isolating Hamas militants.
The confirmation of these plans comes in the context of a proposal supported by Hamas, which calls for the release of 10 hostages in exchange for a two-month ceasefire.
Yesterday, Israeli officials told 'The Jerusalem Post' that preparations for the assault are proceeding as planned. 'Operational planning is continuing as usual. We intend to implement the cabinet decision regarding the capture of Gaza unless an option is presented that includes the release of all hostages and the end of the war under the conditions set by the Prime Minister,' a senior official told the publication.
