Palestine to Form Temporary Committee for Gaza Governance
The Palestinian authorities are expected to announce the establishment of a temporary committee for the governance of the Gaza Strip soon. As reported by RIA Novosti, Palestinian Prime Minister Mohammed Mustafa made this announcement during a press conference near the Rafah crossing.
“We will soon announce the establishment of the temporary committee for Gaza governance,” Mustafa stated.
He added that the committee will operate under the control of the Palestinian National Authority.
It is important to note that due to ongoing military operations between Israel and Hamas, the Gaza Strip has been in a humanitarian crisis since October 2023. The Palestinian National Authority had previously declared its readiness to take over the enclave’s governance after the conflict ends; however, the process of forming a new governance structure remains a subject of contention among various political factions.
