Norway Will Execute International Court Orders for Netanyahu's Arrest, Deputy Foreign Minister Says
Norway condemns Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip and will carry out the International Criminal Court's orders for the arrest of Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu if he arrives in the kingdom, stated Norway's Deputy Foreign Minister Andreas Motsfeldt Kravik in an interview with Al Jazeera.
“Israel's actions are absolutely unacceptable. We have seen how strikes are hitting schools, hospitals, and journalists,” the diplomat said, speaking about the situation in the Palestinian enclave.
He emphasized that the Norwegian government is aware of the ICC's decision to arrest Netanyahu and “will carry out this order if he sets foot on Norwegian soil.”
Kravik reminded that the kingdom, along with several other countries, has imposed sanctions on Israel's Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir.
In November 2024, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity committed in Palestine.
